Hereditary Neuropathy With Pressure Palsies (HNPP)

Hereditary neuropathy with pressure palsies (HNPP)

Hereditary neuropathy with pressure palsies (HNPP) is an inherited condition that causes numbness, tingling and muscle weakness in the limbs.

It affects the peripheral nerves, which connect your brain and spinal cord to your muscles and cells that detect touch, pain and temperature.
HNPP can affect both men and women. Symptoms usually start in your teenage years or 20s to 30s, although they can develop in childhood or later in life.

Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT)

Hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT)

Hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is an inherited genetic disorder that affects the blood vessels. It's known as Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome.
People with HHT have some blood vessels which haven't developed properly and sometimes cause bleeding, known as arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
When AVMs form in the lining of the nose or the gut, they can easily bleed. Frequent bleeding can lead to anaemia and sometimes more serious problems.
